Catching drills for wide receivers
Catching starts with the hands: placing them in the right spot, closing them at the right moment, then securing the ball. This page gathers the 45 catching drills in Route Builder: high-point catches, catches on the run, contested catches and off-target balls. They all need a football or tennis balls. 10 can be done solo, for example by tossing the ball to yourself or against a wall; the others need a partner to throw. Each drill page explains the movement and gives the key points and the common mistakes.
