Balls are thrown successively into the eight sectors around the body: high, low, left, right, and the four diagonals. No ball lands in the same spot as the previous one, so no position can be anticipated.
Key points
- The hands change position depending on the height: thumbs together above the chest, little fingers together below.
- Keep your body facing the passer; let your arms do the work.
- Two full laps, sixteen catches.
Common mistakes
- Turning your body toward each ball, which removes the range-of-motion work.
- A passer who always follows the same order, which makes the zones predictable.
