Lying Catch
- Prescription
- 3 × 20 catches · 30 s restabout 6 min
- Players
- Solo
- Equipment
- Football
Lying on your back, throw the ball straight up and catch it with your arms outstretched, above your eyes. Keep your lower body still: only your hands and eyes are in play, so any missed catch is a hand error and nothing else. This is the simplest way to build up volume on your own, within a two-square-meter space.
Key points
- Thumbs together above the eyes, little fingers together below.
- The arms reach out toward the ball; they do not wait for it to come to their chest.
- Three sets of twenty.
Common mistakes
- Letting the ball drop onto your chest.
- Always throwing to the same height, which removes the adjustment.
