Frame & Freeze
- Prescription
- 3 × 8 catches · 45 s restabout 5 min
- Players
- 3 minimum
- Equipment
- Football
Two partners flank the receiver and hit his forearms with foam noodles, or two rolled-up towels, at the exact moment of the catch. The frame of the hands must not move: it’s the frame that holds the ball, not the strength of the arms.
Key points
- The hand frame is formed before the ball arrives and doesn’t bend on contact.
- Blows should be directed at the forearms, never at the hands or face.
- Three sets of eight.
Common mistakes
- Closing your eyes as the noodles come in.
- Partners who hit before the catch, making the exercise impossible and pointless.
