Pure handling and catching: Catch the ball with your fingertips, release it, catch it again (first on the ground and then at hip height) at an increasingly faster pace. This is what keeps the ball in one hand when the catch is made outside the frame, or when someone pulls on it.

Key points

  • Use your fingers; your palm is only for support.
  • Alternate between the right hand, the left hand, and then both.
  • Three sets of forty-five seconds.

Common mistakes

  • Squeezing the ball against your body between grabs.
  • Going fast before being clean, which works the arm and not the hand.
