Active Hands & Get Skinny

- Blocking bag or shield
A standing dummy (or a standing bag, a pole, a tree) plays the defender right on top of you. Two cues, one after the other. One: active hands. As you approach, one hand strikes to clear his arm, the other pins it against you so he can’t get it back; they never stop. Two: you get skinny. You tuck the chest, show him your shoulder and slip through the small space he leaves you. Eight passes per side.
Key points
- The hands never stop: one hand clears, the other pins.
- Tuck the chest: the less surface he has, the less he slows you down.
- You pass close to the dummy, you don’t take a detour.
Common mistakes
- Giving up your chest by arriving square.
- Using only one hand and letting the other hang.
