- Prescription
- 8 × starts · 30 s restabout 6 min
- Players
- Solo
- Equipment
- Cones (recommended)
A short two-foot hop that freezes the defender, followed by a clean break. The third of the named starts, along with the slide and the speed release. Eight starts, alternating the side of the break without announcing it.
Key points
- The jump is short and low: it’s a hesitation, not a takeoff.
- Both feet land together, ready to take off again.
- The start follows the landing immediately, with no dead time.
- In a group, with a ball: your partner throws to you as you come out of the break. Same movement, plus the catch.
Common mistakes
- Hopping high, which leaves you in the air when he decides to step up.
- Pausing after the hop, and turning the feint into a gift.
