Lateral Lunge
- Reference prescription
- Check the prescription in your workout.
- Players
- Solo
- Equipment
- None
Side lunges, alternating sides: Shift your weight onto one bent leg while keeping the other leg straight. This movement engages the adductors before performing lateral steps and cuts.
Key points
- The foot of the extended leg remains flat, with the toes pointing forward.
- The descent is controlled; the upward movement comes from the bent leg.
- Chest up: if your back rounds, your hip has reached its limit.
Common mistakes
- Lowering by bending your back rather than your hip.
- Letting the knee of the bent leg drift past your toes.
