Double Move Release
- Prescription
- 6 × starts / side · 30 s restabout 7 min
- Players
- Solo
- Equipment
- Cones (recommended)
A step to one side, a big step and a head fake to the other, then back to the first side. Three beats, and it’s the third that releases.
Key points
- The feint must last long enough for him to shift his weight; otherwise, it’s pointless.
- The return is the fastest of the three moves.
- Don't use it at the start of the game: it's worth it once he's seen the simple release.
- In a group, with a ball: your partner throws to you as you come out of the break. Same movement, plus the catch.
Common mistakes
- Chaining the three beats at the same speed, which commits no one.
- Losing two yards of depth on the feint.
