A 90-degree break around a vertical marker: a stake, a pole, a tall cone or a bottle standing upright (the video uses a yellow pole). Set it up twelve yards out, next to your line. You run up, take a step, then sink your hips next to the marker: one step, then a drop, two clean beats. You break out at 90 degrees, toward the sideline or toward the inside. The marker only shows the depth: you don’t wrap around it, you don’t hug it. Alternate the exit direction on every rep. Ten breaks.

Key points
- One step, then the drop: two clean beats.
- Stay away from the marker: it shows the depth, it doesn’t draw you in.
- Alternate sides so you don’t build a strong side.
Common mistakes
- Diving and leaning your torso around the marker instead of sinking your hips.
- Hugging the marker and shrinking your exit angle.
