- Cones (recommended)
Four square cuts in a row, at four different depths: two short, one medium, one long. Place four cones (or other markers: bottles, bags) along your line, at four, six, ten and fifteen yards. At each cone you break at 90 degrees, then come back onto your line and run flat out to the next one. The same move changes nature with depth: at four or six yards two steps are enough to plant; at ten and beyond you need three. Four full rounds.

Key points
- Short: two steps to plant. Long: three.
- The same square exit at every depth.
- You run back up at full speed between two breaks.
Common mistakes
- Running the long break with the footwork of the short one, and coming out rounded.
- Slowing down to catch your breath between two breaks.
