Snap Down in Route
- Prescription
- 20 × snap downs · 20 s restabout 8 min
- Players
- Solo
- Equipment
- None
The hip drop taken out of any route, but run rather than learned in place. Three running steps, you snap down, you go again. Nothing else: no cone to go around, no direction to choose, no ball. Twenty reps, looking for the same hip height every time.
Key points
- Lower your hips, keep your shoulders forward: let your body weight slow you down, never your heel.
- The snap down is done in two steps, not three. The third step is already a drift.
- Listen for the sound: two sharp steps beat a long, silent braking.
Common mistakes
- Bending forward instead of dropping your hips, which puts your weight on your toes.
- Chaining reps without fully standing up between them, and working higher and higher.
