- Equipment
- Mini hurdles
Six mini hurdles spaced one meter apart, cleared at maximum frequency, followed by a 90-degree cut immediately after the last hurdle. The hurdle forces a true knee lift, which the ladder drill allows players to avoid, and the cut brings the movement back into the context of the position.
Key points
- The knee must clear the hurdle; it must not go around it.
- The cutting step is planted one meter from the last hurdle, never on it.
- Eight runs, alternating the break left and right.
- One minute between runs.
Common mistakes
- Jumping with both feet from one hurdle to the next.
- Slowing down before the last hurdle to prepare for the change of direction: that’s exactly what we’re trying to eliminate.
