Tuck Jumps

- Equipment
- None
Continuous jumps bringing the knees up to hip height, with no pause between them. No equipment, one square meter: it’s the fallback when there’s no field and no gear, and it’s also an excellent test of landing quality.
Key points
- Bring your knees up toward your hands: it’s your knees that move, not your hands that come down.
- Quiet landing, flat-footed, knees in line with your feet.
- Eight consecutive repetitions, with no breaks in between.
- One minute between series.
Common mistakes
- Leaning forward to touch your knees, which breaks the line and loads your lower back.
- A loud landing on straight legs: a sign you’re no longer absorbing anything, so you stop there.
