Lateral Bound to Stick
- Prescription
- 3 × 6 / side · 60 s restabout 5 min
- Players
- Solo
- Equipment
- None
A lateral bound from one foot to the other, holding the landing for two seconds without the foot moving. It’s the skater’s move, and it’s also the move of the break: push off to the side, then absorb it alone on the landing foot.
Key points
- The landing knee should remain in line with the foot; it should never turn inward.
- Hold still for two seconds before the next jump: if your foot moves, the repetition does not count.
- You add distance once the landing is clean, never before.
- One minute between sets.
Common mistakes
- Putting your second foot down to regain balance, which negates the entire exercise.
- Chasing distance from the first session: it’s the reverse of the order that protects you.
