Face-to-face, no contact. The partner tries to pass first to one side and then to the other, while the blocker stays in front of him using sidesteps. Hands behind the back for the first set: with the arms out of the way, only the feet remain, and it is the feet that do the blocking.
Key points
- Stay an arm's length away: if you're too close, you'll get beaten; if you're too far, you won't have any control.
- Keep your eyes on the defender’s navel, never on his shoulders: the upper body can be deceiving, but the hips cannot.
- Five sets of fifteen seconds; switch roles after each set.
Common mistakes
- Following shoulder fakes and opening your hip for nothing.
- Backing up instead of moving sideways.
