Slant Three-Step
- Prescription

- Equipment
- Cones (recommended)
Take three steps toward the outer hip of the cone (or any other marker: bottle, bag), then plant your outside foot and cut 45 degrees inward. Ten repetitions per side, without the ball: the focus is on the footwork, not the catch.

Key points
- The cut is made on the outside foot. On the other foot, you lose a full beat.
- The first three steps really threaten the outside; otherwise, the defender won't bite.
- The inside shoulder drops at the same time the foot plants.
- In a group, with a ball: your partner throws to you as you come out of the break. Same movement, plus the catch.
Common mistakes
- Rounding the cut, which turns it into a crosser and closes the window.
- Standing up before you go again.
