Triple Broad Jump
- Prescription
- 5 × 3 · 90 s restabout 6 min
- Players
- Solo
- Equipment
- None
Three consecutive long jumps without pausing, with the distance measured on the third jump. The first jump measures strength, while the next two measure reactivity: the ability to reuse the energy from landing rather than losing it upon impact with the ground.
Key points
- There should be no pause between the three jumps; contact with the ground should be brief.
- The second jump is the hardest: it determines whether you bounce back or have to start all over again.
- Compare the distance of the three jumps to three times your single jump: the difference tells you how much more you need to gain.
- Ninety seconds between sets.
Common mistakes
- Stopping between jumps to reset, which turns it into three single jumps.
- Sacrificing the landing of the first jump to gain distance, and losing the next two.
